 | Saturday, August 12, 2017

Daniel Roy of King Aquatic Club lowered the meet record in the men’s 200m breast, while three other swimmers – Alexander Zettle, Zoie Hartman and Carson Foster – added to their win totals on night four of the Speedo Junior National Championships at the Nassau County Aquatic Center.

In the women’s 200m free, the fastest time of the night came out of the B final from Magnolia Aquatic Club’s Lucie Nordmann (2:00.01), but North Baltimore’s Easop Lee will be credited with the win after swimming a 2:00.08 to win the A final. Meanwhile, Alexander Zettle of Lakeside Aquatic Club picked up his second win of the meet with a 1:49.13 in the men’s race, the only sub-1:50 swim of the meet.

Crow Canyon’s Zoie Hartman swept the breaststroke events this week, taking home the 200m breast title tonight in 2:28.09. King Aquatic Club’s Daniel Roy did the same on the men’s side and added a meet record to his resume in the men’s 200m breast with a 2:11.25. Penn Charter Aquatics’ Reece Whitley set the previous record of 2:12.17 back in 2015.

Isabelle Stadden of Fastjets took home the women’s 100m back title in 1:01.23, edging out four others who also came in under 1:02, including Nordmann, who touched second in 1:01.63.

Mason Manta Rays’ Carson Foster earned his third win this week with a 55.61 in the men’s 100m back finale, just out-touching second place finisher Shaine Casas (55.79) of Nitro Swimming. Foster won the 200m fly (1:58.47) and 200m back (1:59.40) earlier in the meet.

Magnolia Aquatic Club closed out the night with a win in the women’s 4x200m free relay, with the foursome of Lucie Nordmann, Monica Gumina, Kaitlynn Sims and Lillie Nordmann clocking an 8:10.64, just off the 2013 meet record of 8:10.13.

The five-day meet runs through Saturday with daily prelims at 9 a.m. ET followed by finals at 5 p.m. ET. All-session, single-day and single-session tickets are on sale now at Exclusive, live webcast coverage of each session will be streamed at
